Introduction
David Davies has a passion for dogs and their training. He has been employed as a police officer nearly 30 years most of which has been as a dog handler. He originally founded happy Dogs in 2000. Originally, as a learning curve in order to understand breed specific behaviour in dogs, and different methods required to train them. This soon escalated in terms of the number of clients whom contacted David for help. Most issues with pet dogs stem from too little stimulation, exercise, and/or poor relationship between dog and owner. Training (giving a dog something to do) will in most instances massively improve the dogs attitude to life.
Method
Having made contact and agreed on a consultation, we will arrange to meet you and your dog. Some ideas will be offered in order that you understand your dog & it you!!!
Following an agreed period a structured course of training will be tailored to you and your dog. The method used is a simple uncomplicated approach using praise and reward for encouragement. All training, unless exceptional circumstances are run on a one on one basis.
Following the home call to you, we will begin with the basic exercises (foundation work), in private surrounding. Once basics are fully understood by you and your dog we will progress to distractions being introduced (developemental stage). Following successful completion of this, proofing (consolidation), will take place to ensure your dog understands what is required from it.
So long as you the owner are prepared to keep working with your dog, and maintain a consistent approach, your dog will continue to respond favourably towards your requests.
